“I love helping people figure out what’s been causing their distress — and come up with effective strategies to actually make things better.”
I love working with people to help them figure out what’s been going on to cause their distress — but also to help come up with effective strategies to make things better. I particularly enjoy working with people going through difficult life transitions, such as the loss of a job or a relationship, starting a new job or relationship, going through a health issue or financial difficulty, becoming a parent, or just trying to generally figure out what direction to take in life.
I also really enjoy working with anxiety issues, including stress, panic attacks, phobias, addictions, and past trauma. Most people need better coping skills to deal with these issues, and it’s rewarding to watch them learn and implement these skills in therapy and start feeling better.
“It’s rewarding to watch clients learn and implement coping skills — and start feeling better. Real change is possible, and it often starts with a single shift in perspective.”
My approach is practical and skills-focused. I draw primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors — and to build concrete tools for managing whatever they’re facing.
I bring an energetic and direct style to my work. We’ll identify what’s not working, figure out why, and build a practical plan to move forward.
