Therapists are not immune to the struggles they help others navigate. Burnout, vicarious trauma, relationship difficulties, personal loss, identity questions — all of it. At Discover Counseling, we offer confidential therapy for mental health professionals who need a space of their own.
Therapists know better than anyone that therapy works. And yet the barriers to seeking it are real — concerns about confidentiality, finding someone who doesn’t over-identify with the profession, or simply the strange experience of being the client instead of the clinician.
At Discover Counseling, our therapists understand the clinical world from the inside. You don’t have to explain what supervision is, or manage your therapist’s curiosity about what it’s like to be a counselor. You can just be a person who needs support.
Therapy for therapists at Discover Counseling is completely confidential under the same HIPAA protections that apply to all clients. Your licensing board will not be notified that you are receiving therapy. Your employer will not be informed. Your clinical work is not evaluated or judged.
If you have specific concerns about confidentiality given your professional context, bring them to a first session and we’ll address them directly.
We offer both in-person sessions at our Tigard office and telehealth sessions — which many therapist-clients prefer for scheduling flexibility and privacy. Most major insurance plans are accepted.
